I would have posted this as a response to the Minister´s earlier observations about the Babys´ nuptuals, but I fear the gloating may be lost, so here ya go, square in the mush.
Rio is oversold, but not overrated. Great myths of our time include that all Brazilian women are goddesses. They are not. I realise now it would have been better to view Rio as a huge (fucking huge) city with a couple of great beaches, rather than a beach with a city attached. Still, waking up with an ocean view of a mile and a half of Ipanema beach isn´t a bad life. There´s much to Rio as a city and in retrospect I would prefer to have stayed in the city and gone to the beach occasionally.
Iguazu falls is truly spectacular.
I´m now in Buenos Aires. It´s quite cold at about 23 degrees centigrade at 10.20 in the evening. Well it´s the lowest the mercury´s been since we´ve got to South America.
And yes, the water does go down the plug hole the other way. That´s been one of the highlights of the trip.
I´ll elaborate more on all of this when I get back.
Still, if I´ve just given it you square in the mush, the new Mrs Baby has given it to me square in the wallet. So far to the tune of two handbags and a pair of dance shoes.
As I said to the guy in the shoe shop today, “ella compra, yo pago”. Michel Thomas rocks.
Mrs Baby has just read this and said, “And she hasn´t finished yet”. Oh fuck…
