A piece of direct mail arrives from Country Holidays.
If your idea of holiday heaven is basking in glorious sunshine, you’ll be delighted to learn that 2007 is forecast to be the warmest year on record in the UK. So instead of just booking a holiday abroad, why not spend a few days or longer in the UK and make the most of the expected good weather.
I knew there had to be a silver lining to the cloud that is global warming: I’m glad somebody’s pointed it out to me.
Re: British holidays. I took my family on holiday last summer to North East Yorkshire: Robin Hood’s Bay, near Whitby. It is one of the most naturally beautiful places I have ever visited. I said to my wife that there were only two aspects to the holiday which seriously differentiated it from where we usually holiday in France: the ability to guarantee good weather and the quality of the food. It looks like the first problem might be on the way to being solved, but I’m afraid there’s still a long way to go for the second.
